Genetics
Our base line
genetics started from three separate bloodlines
and we are currently keeping two separate
breeding pens and continuing to "Stack
Genetics" generation after generation based
upon these core bloodlines. Our first breeder,
"Quacos", a pure South Texas buck whose
father, "Peanut", at four years old
scored 178
6/8
Boone & Crockett points and had a inside main
beam spread of 24
3/8
inches.
The doe we have chosen for "Quacos" are
daughters of "Peanut" and also from a
pure South Texas buck who at two years of age
scored 171 Boone & Crockett points. The deer,
"Double Trouble", also had an inside
main beam spread of 22 6/8
inches and a remarkable seventeen points. These
combinations have no doubt been our most sought
after pairing.
We also have a
pen of doe, which we bred, out of a fabulous buck
"C1-B" who at three years showed
magnificent potential. He showed mass and non-typical
superior quality. A small group of his doe
offspring were collected and are being bred by
"Quacos" to create a South Texas cross
selection. This combination created a beautiful
large bodied whitetail with non-typical and wide
characteristics. Our two year old buck, "Peewee",
is an example of this breeding selection. We also
plan to breed "Peewee" to both pure
South Texas and South Texas cross doe for the 1999/2000 breading
season.
We currently
offer buck and doe offspring from either pen. We
can collect the fawns at two to three days old
for the customer to bottle raise or at 100 to 120
days old when we wean the fawns. All of our base
herd is bottle raised and gentle. Therefore, the
fawn offspring are somewhat docile should you
choose the later.
